The Power of Decision Making

In life, there are dreams and then there are detours. Some choices we make can lead to viable opportunities while other choices can lead to dead-ends.

“Raise your hand if you know someone who didn’t reach their goals and dreams.” Shaun boldly asks as an ominous hush sweeps across the auditorium. Teachers and staff stand in awe witnessing a sea of hands stretched toward the sky.

Shaun shares the tale of two teens. One being his friend (“J”) and the other being himself. There were many similarities between Shaun and J: Both went to the same school. Same age. Same neighborhood. Same interests. Same hangout spots. But things quickly change when “J” begins hanging with dead-end company. J’s new crew invite questionable behavior and sometimes violence. Frustration ensues as young Shaun must make a choice. Choose his friend… or his life.
